In 1990 the first Pacific Rim (Pacrim) Yacht Challenge was held in Bellingham. Pacrim is a sailing regatta, conducted over 1 week, and involving six cities from the around the Pacific Rim. The challenge runs every second year and is hosted in turn by the cities. Between 100 and 150 people, sailors and supports, attend from Sister Cities bringing substantial economic benefit to the host city.

Held at d'Albora Marina, this annual event has grown to be amoungst the most popular family fishing tournament in Australia. While staying true to its original idea of making anglers of all ages and skill levels welcome. The rules are simple to understand and there are a lot oj Juniors each year. These days, you can expect to join up to 1500 competitors and 500 boats to compete for around $100,000 in species and lucky draw prizes.

Since setting sail in 2008 with a flotilla of 25 boats, Sail Port Stephens is now firmly established as a 'must do' annual event on every self respecting yachties calendar.
